Welcome!

I would like to extend an open-armed welcome to all for this year’s Wyoming International Chamber Music Festival. It is a great pleasure to be able to bring this project to life, and to do so in my beloved hometown of Laramie, WY.

The idea for this festival came to me after bringing a few friends to Wyoming to play some concerts, but also to enjoy the state’s unique natural splendors. It became clear that Laramie’s large community of music lovers, and the marvelous surroundings, have already paved the way for an event like this to draw great artists from all over to spend time in this beautiful corner of the world.

The festival is designed as much for the benefit of the audience as it is the artists–to build a sense of artistic community which firmly marks Wyoming on the musical map, and to enrich an already vibrant musical life which Laramie, and I, have enjoyed for many years.

It is my sincere hope that you will join us this August 11th - 16th for one of our many completely free concerts, and to be a part of this new and exciting musical offering. We’ll be joined by 20 players from across the planet, and will be presenting a diverse program spanning the ages, and the farthest reaches of the globe.

I must also extend a special thanks to our hosts, the wonderful people at St. Matthew’s Cathedral. Thanks to them, our concerts will be given in a superb acoustic and iconic Laramie landmark.

Yours,

Ross McIntosh
